Lara grew up traveling the world as a child of a foreign service diplomat. She has lived as far away as the Philippines, West Germany (yes, she is that old!), Maine, and Wyoming. Despite all of this travel, Lara always knew she wanted to teach young children. In 1988, she had the great fortune to train at the Washington Montessori Institute (WMI) with Liz Hall and Margaret Stephenson. Lara holds a 3-6 AMI Diploma, is a Consultant for AMI/USA, has been a presenter for the Montessori Association of North Carolina (MANC), was the Course Assistant for WMI’s first blended primary course in North Carolina, and has led numerous parent education sessions. Throughout her 30+ year career, she has taught in small (6 children) to large (32 children) classrooms, has owned two schools, and has had the great pleasure to work with several Montessori trainees. Lara currently leads a primary classroom at Keystone Montessori School in Charlotte, NC.
