About This Workshop

This workshop aims to deepen Montessori elementary teachers’ understanding of the contextual richness within Cosmic Education
that can support a life-long learning approach to spelling and learning about the English language.

Many teachers and schools find spelling a source of anxiety and often use spelling programs which, according to research,
may not be particularly effective. From a Montessori perspective, such approaches may also limit our view of the child.
This workshop will focus on assisting schools and teachers in integrating spelling across all their presentations,
particularly emphasizing the importance of the morphemic and etymological contexts of the English language.

This workshop will be recorded and available to registered participants for up to two weeks.
For Maryland participants, MSDE training certificates (with the appropriate Core of Knowledge area and hours) will be provided,
at no additional cost, after each participant completes a brief questionnaire.
For non-Maryland participants, Loyola CEUs are available at an additional cost.
