ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
AMI primary trainers Jennifer Shields and Naoko Ogawa will spend a Saturday with assistants to help them with their everyday work with the primary child. We will explore the developmental needs of the primary child according to Maria Montessori and how this affects the way we approach lunch, snack, transitions, and playtime. How can we help children enjoy lunch in a way that is orderly, social, and nutritious? Learn how to help children be independent and happy, especially at those tricky transition times. We will demonstrate conflict resolution and grace and courtesy techniques. We will offer indoor and outdoor activities for recess and playtime, giving participants a chance to practice. Maryland participants will receive 6 MSDE training hours for attending this workshop.
